Concrete paving stones and segmental retaining walls have revolutionized the hardscapes industry while greatly enhancing landscape architecture. It?EUR??,,????'???s not clear who is having more fun, the manufacturers who continue to introduce new product shapes, colors and textures or the designers and installers who use them to create alluring landscapes. But together, we continue to improve the landscape with beautifully designed residential and commercial applications.

Multi-Stone Paver Systems

Innovations in concrete pave stones continue to introduce new paver options. Venetian Stone?EUR??,,????<

Since these stones are tumbled as an after market process, there are many shapes to choose from. No two stones look the same, providing a very natural and rustic look. ASTM C-936 rated, the paving stones can be used for both residential and commercial paving applications.

Polymeric Sand

As the multi-stone paver systems grow in demand, so too does polymeric joint stabilizing sand.

The sands are applied dry and harden after wetting, staying in place better than other sands. Because the polymeric sand hardens, it stays in place better, resisting erosion from the elements of weather, street sweepers and snowplows while inhibiting weed growth.

Tumbled Pave Stones

The tumbling process of pave stones introduced an architectural enhancement that quickly became very popular nationwide. Since the stones are tumbled as an after market process, there are many stones shapes to choose from. No two stones look the same, providing a very natural and rustic look. ASTM C-936 rated, the paving stones can be used for both residential and commercial paving applications.

Permeable pave stones, a component of stormwater control best management practices, are the result of the need for porous pavements capable of withstanding high traffic volume. The design of the pave stones, with geometric surface voids, allow for runoff water to infiltrate back into the earth decreasing floods and property damage.

Permeable or Porous Pave Stones

The need for and use of permeable pave stones, a component of stormwater control best management practices, is a result of the need for porous pavements capable of withstanding high traffic areas. The design of the pave stones, with geometric surface voids, allows for runoff water to infiltrate back into the earth, decreasing floods and property damage. Most permeable pave stones come in the standard 4???8 rectangle size allowing for installation patterns such as herringbone or 90 degree herringbone for a true pavement interlock. An option of two-inch or three-inch thickness provide permeable pavement solutions for both heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Mechanically Installed Pavers

Some interlocking concrete pavers can be mechanically laid. Mechanical installation of pavers is ideal for large commercial jobs; as each machine can lay approximately 2,000 to 3,000 square feet of pavers per day. Installation pattern selections include cross-joint bond, herringbone and running bond.

Segmental Retaining Walls

Many times, walls in landscape designs serve a dual purpose of beauty accents with structural support such as slope stabilization or other retaining applications. New to the wall market are free-standing walls which can be used for columns, gated areas, low ?EUR??,,????'??fenced?EUR??,,????'??? areas to direct pedestrian traffic flow, grill enclosures and privacy wall applications.

A manufacturer?EUR??,,????'???s representative can assist you with product selection, design ideas, color samples and industry installation certification programs. Technical binders and marketing materials to assist you in presenting to residential and commercial customers are also available.

While hardscape installation does not require the same technically-skilled crews as other products such as masonry, the ICPI and NCMA certification courses can increase skill level, installation efficiencies and profitability while decreasing call-backs.
