John Selander, LC, assumed the office of president of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES). Mr. Selander succeeds Fred Oberkircher, LC, FIES (Emeritus, Texas Christian University). Mr. Selander received a BS degree from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, Wellesley, MA. He has been a member of the Society for twenty-five years. He is currently a member of the Detroit Section. He has served on a number of society committees; merchandise lighting, technical review council, office lighting, educational seminars, and Lighting Economics, a committee that he chaired. He is also author of Lighting Economics, an advanced level educational seminar published by the IES.
