Andrew Bell


Andrew Bell, Ph.D. recently joined the Chicago Botanic Garden as the new Curator of Woody Plants. Dr. Bell will be responsible for managing 200,000 woody plants in a collection considered one of the best maintained and most beautifully displayed in the world. Dr. Bell will be involved with a $1 million redevelopment of the Dwarf Conifer Garden that is expected to be completed by the spring of 2009.

Mike Sherman


National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) welcomes back Major Mike Sherman from a one-year assignment in the Middle East as part of his U.S. Army Reserve commitment. Sherman now serves as Special Assistant to the Executive Director, and previously worked as the Director of the Technology Development and Application Division.

NCPC also recently welcomed Athena Hernandez who joined the Office of Public Affairs as the agency?EUR??,,????'???s Communications Specialist. Hernandez has nearly 15 years of work experience in media and community relations.






Marcel Acosta


Marcel Acosta also joined NCPC as Acting Executive Director. Acosta is a leader in the planning profession with more than 20 years of experience in urban and transportation planning. He received a Loeb Fellowship from Harvard University?EUR??,,????'???s Graduate School of Design in 2001 and a Masters of Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.






Walter Bone


Belt Collins International Hong Kong LTD, a Honolulu based firm providing planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture and environmental consulting services, has announced the addition of Walter Bone, ASLA CLARB. Bone has joined the team as a Senior Landscape Architect in the Hong Kong office.

Architecture firm MSI recently announced the master plan and site design for the Westgate Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa in Orlando is completed. Plans for the oceanfront resort include a raised garden courtyard, ground-level zero-entry pool, streetscape promenade and tot-lot water element. MSI partnered with Morris Architects on the project that is being developed by Orlando based Westgate Resorts.

Matthew McGrath brings over seven years of experience to his new job as a Landscape Architect at the award-winning planning, urban design and landscape architecture firm, MSI. McGrath graduated Ohio University with a BA in political science and business administration. In 2001, he received his Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Ohio State University.
