Raymond L. Uecker, Jr.


Raymond L. Uecker, Jr., ASLA has been appointed to the National Landscape Architecture Foundation Board of Directors. Mr. Uecker is President of Uecker Land Team, P.A., an international Land Planning and Landscape Architecture firm headquartered in Fort Lauderdale. In appointing Uecker, Roger Martin, President of the American Society of Landscape Architects, noted the many contributions Uecker has made to his profession and the ASLA. “The Foundation needs the energy and ideas Uecker has in an effort to expand its activities,” Martin noted.

“I am quite honored by this appointment to the Foundation’s Board of Directors,” said Uecker. He added, “The profession of Landscape Architecture has grown in size and importance, especially in Florida. I hope that my involvement in the Foundation will be of further help in expanding the public’s awareness an understanding of the multi-faceted profession of Landscape Architecture.”

Uecker is an eighteen year resident of the Ft. Lauderdale area. Since 1975, Uecker has been in private practice in South Florida. The Uecker Land Team has provided their services throughout the Southeastern United States and the Caribbean basin. The firm is known for its expertise in sub-tropic and tropical environments, having undertaken numerous projects in these areas. In addition, they are known for their attention to detailing and personally overseeing the implementation of their designs.






Richard C. Walkenhorst


James E. (Bud) Moulder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Booker Associates, Inc., has announced the promotion of Richard C. Walkenhorst to Manager of the Architecture Department. Walkenhorst joined Booker in 1979, and has worked as Chief of the Architecture Section and, most recently, as a Project Manager in the firm?EUR??,,????'???s Project Management Group.

Walkenhorst received his B.S. in Architectural Engineering and a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in 1974 from the University of Kansas. He is a certified Value Engineering Task Team Leader, and a Registered Architect in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, lowa, Arkansas and Wisconsin.

Booker Associates is a multidisciplinary firm providing professional services in architecture; landscape architecture; planning; and civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering.

Booker maintains regional offices in Sikeston, Missouri, and Fairview Heights, Illinois. The firm also operates three wholly-owned subsidiaries: Booker/Freund in Wichita, Kansas; BookerAssociates, Inc. of Kentucky, in Lexington; and Booker Construction Managers in St. Louis. A permanent joint venture, Booker/Eltoplan, operates in Kaiserslautern, West Germany.

Thomas Balsley Associates expands staff. Thomas Balsley Associates, a New York based landscape architectural, site planning and urban design firm, announces the addition of Catherine Lambert Wells to its staff as Project Manager. Ms. Wells previously worked as a principal designer for Rosa Grena Kliass P.P.P. Ltda, landscape architects in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ms. Wells has a Master’s Degree in Urban/Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University.
