Glen Hunt has been asked to serve as National Chair of the ASLA Residential Committee. The committee is charged with the task of investigating the role Landscape Architects play in current residential design. In forming the committee ASLA has recognized that landscape architecture on a residential scale is unique in many ways and therefore justifies special attention within the profession.
As National Chair, Glen will be coordinating activities of local chapter residential committees throughout the country. He will also continue to serve as chair of the WASLA Residential Committee. Bud Mack
Bud Mack, of A-G Sod, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Arizona Landscape Contractors Association. The ALCA created a new feature within the board by having multiple divisional representatives for each category. Bud is accompanied by two others as Divisional Representative for the associate members. The position is an electoral one and has a term of one year.
Bud has been with A-G Sod Farms for two years and has been in the industry for twenty-three. He has worked throughout the state of Arizona and is familiar with the highly varied growing conditions, making him a superb choice for the board. A-G Sod Farms, Inc., is a producer of top quality sod and stolons, with seven farms across the sunbelt to serve the turfgrass needs of the landscape industry.
Francis Sullivan
Francis Sullivan, of Sullivan Concrete Textures, was recently honored at the Thirteenth Annual Concrete Industry Paving Awards for their work in decorative paving at the Four Seasons Hotel in Newport Beach, and the Plaza Alicante in Anaheim, California. The Plaza Alicante was designed by the S.W.A. Group of Laguna Beach. The Four Seasons Hotel was designed by The Peridian Group of Irvine?EUR??,,????'???
Seven Members of the Arizona ASLA were honored by the chapter for their efforts in promoting the ideals of landscape architecture in 1986. John Battaglia of John Battaglia Landscaping, Hollister, California has been named Editor of the Year by the California Landscape Contractors Association. The announcement was made at the association’s recent convention in Hawaii.
Battaglia edits SEASCAPE, a monthIy newsletter published by CLCA’s Central Coast Chapter. The chapter distributes the publication to its members in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties. SEASCAPE is one of 14 newsletters published by CLCA chapters throughout the state.

Stephen P. Monka, president of Irvine-based Keeline-Wilcox. Inc. today announced that William A. Mandigo has joined the company as vice president of sales and marketing. Mandigo will be responsible for creating national recognition for the 67-year old interior plant supplier as well as supervising the company’s new nationwide distribution network.
Prior to his Keeline-Wilcox appointment, Mandigo was a product manager for Inacomp, the nation’s fourth largest reseller of personal computers.
