Michael A. Romero

Michael A. Romero has been appointed as MACTEC ?EUR??,,????'?????<J. Allen Kibler, Jr., president of MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. Romero has four AHERA certifications, asbestos inspector, management planner,contractor/supervisor, and project designer. Romero is a member of the Environmental Information Association, Arizona Chapter of the Indoor Air Quality Association.

Norris Design announced the promotions of, recent accreditations of and additions to its staff including: Wendi Birchler, principal, and John Geifer, senior associate, recently earned the LEED professional accreditation from the Green Building Certification Institute and Karen Grannan Ryan to senior associate and Jennifer Patton to project manager.

Las Vegas-based D&K Landscape, Inc. took home a hefty prize in the American Society of Landscape Architects Nevada Chapter (NASLA) Landscape Architecture Awards: The 2008 NASLA Merit Award for superior professional accomplishment within the commercial, retail and mixed use category. Among the many entries, D&K won this prestigious award for its landscape design for the Arroyo Corporate Center project located at 7450 and 7455 Arroyo Crossing Parkway in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.

The Jacksonville Section of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) hosted its annual event at the home of Steve Lovett, ASLA member and founding partner with Ervin Lovett & Miller, a Jacksonville-based planning, architecture, landscape architecture and urban design firm. The event raised $2,400 for the I.M. Yvonne English, owner of Legends in Landscape, a design/build landscape company in Dana Point, California, recently added registered landscape architect to her list of accomplishments after passing the California state licensing exam. She is also a certified landscape, pool and outdoor lighting designer as well as a licensed California landscape contractor. Legends in Landscape is changing its name to Legends in Landscape Architecture and Construction. Its new focus will include in all facets of landscape design and construction from residential, streetscapes, parks and open spaces and commercial buildings.
