Desiree A. Salmon

Rehler Vaughn & Koone, Inc. announced Desiree A. Salmon and Brian J. McBride have been promoted to associate. Desiree A. Salmon, ASLA, attended the University of Nebraska and Kansas State University. She has been with RVK since 2005 and is currently working on projects for the Vistana high-rise, Stone Oak Commons, ACCD Palo Alto College, and Miraflores at Brackenridge Park. Brian J. McBride started with RVK in 2002. He attended Louisiana State University. He has recently been working on the Silver Oak Medical Center, Enterprise Business Park, and the Bulverde Spring Branch Library.

The architecture, planning and landscape architecture firm Ervin Lovett & Miller announced that construction has begun on phase one of The Promenade at Bartram Springs. The commercial project has been designed for Bartram Springs Center, LLC and when all phases are complete, will be comprised of more than 200,000 square feet and encompass nearly 27 acres.

Brent Burke


Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting announced the appointment of Brent Burke as technical specialist for the Florida region. Burke was previously turf division sales manager for Florida Irrigation Supply where he worked for over 22 years in a variety of sales, operations and customer support roles. His background includes experience with design, engineering, and installation of landscape lighting systems.

Empex Watertoys???????(R)???????+???? has just completed a waterslide and water playground combination at the newly inaugurated Liquid Planet Waterpark in Candia, NH. Aquatons???????(R)???????+???? Sprayparks are designed for children of ages to 12 and the waterslide complex accommodates the teens and adults to provide a full compliment of water activity for this fledgling park.

Following longtime Program Director Alexis Slafer?EUR??,,????'?????< retirement earlier this year, Stephanie Landregan joined UCLA Extension this fall quarter as the landscape architecture program?EUR??,,????'?????<Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority?EUR??,,????'?????< chief landscape architect. She also has served as landscape architect for the cities of La Verne and San Dimas, both in Southern California.






Chris Butts


The Georgia Green Industry Association (GGIA), a trade organization of over 750 members, representing the landscape and nursery industry in Georgia, has named Chris Butts, director of legislative, environmental and public affairs. Butts is a lifelong member of the green industry and served the GGIA Executive Board in several volunteer capacities before his appointment.

CRJA Principal Bill Taylor is overseeing landscape design for several major parks and mixed-use development projects in the United Arab Emirates. Bill is the principal in charge of Shams Central Park; Sean Vasington, an associate and project manager of CRJA?EUR??,,????'?????<Knoxville South Waterfront Streetscapes with Vaughn & Melton Engineers. Sean is also collaborating with Vaughn & Melton on the redesign of Cumberland Avenue in Knoxville; in other Knoxville office news, landscape architect Carrie Read has achieved LEED Accreditation. Carrie recently designed and oversaw construction of the First Creek Channel Improvements in Knoxville.
