A structural engineer by training, the Gainesville, Fla., resident is president of Caldwell Cook & Associates, and is an adjunct professor at the University of Florida.
The Tarkett Group has appointed Eric P. Daliere as acting president of its sports division, Tarkett Sports. Mr. Daliere will replace Joe Fields effective immediately. Eric will be based out of the company?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s corporate headquarters in Montreal. Eric Daliere joins Tarkett Sports from KKR Capstone where he has served as a director for nearly 10 years. Tarkett Sports is the largest entity in the sports and landscape surfacing industries.
The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) has elected Ian Wasson President-Elect of its 2009-10 Board of Directors British Columbia; Denise M. Husband, vice president, Delaware; Kreg Mebust, Navada as the Region V director; James Rathmann has been re-elected as the Region I director; Dennis Mersky treasurer, Ohio and Tobey Wagner, president of Sod Solutions in Mount Pleasant, SC was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Trustees of Turfgrass Producers International (TPI).
A Penn State professor has been honored for his work in the landscape design of a ?EUR??,,????'?????<?green?EUR??,,????'?????<? residential building in Boston, according to a press release from the College of Arts and Architecture. C. Timothy Baird, an associate professor of landscape architecture, serves as a consultant and adjunct principal at Landworks Studio, Inc. The company recently received an honor award from the American Society of Landscape Architects for its landscape design of the Macallen Building in South Boston, according to the press release.
BULBRITE announced the appointment of Cathy Choi to president and Andrew Choi, the former president, to Chairman. Ms. Choi previously served as vice president and Mr. Choi was the founder, president and CEO for the past 38 years. Stephen McDaniel, AIA, has joined the New York City office of Perkins + Will as a principal and market sector leader for science and technology. McDaniel specializes in buildings that combine research and clinical space under one roof. He was previously the leader of RMJM?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s science and health efforts in North America.
Clark Condon Associates announce the hiring of Joshua LaMartina, a former summer intern, who recently graduated from Kansas State University. His family owns a landscaping and contracting company in Missouri where he would work in the summers, so he is very familiar with the industry. With enthusiasm, Josh provides support in everything from conceptual design to development of construction documents. He has worked on a variety of projects including parks, streetscapes and communities.
Foit-Albert Associates, Architecture, Engineering, and Surveying formed a strategic relationship with the Italian structural engineering firm Pio Gianluca Tonti. For the past three months, Pio Gianluca Tonti, owner of PGT Engineering, has worked with Foit-Albert Associates to learn about American sustainable buildings and energy-saving processes. Foit-Albert Associates is a 105-person architecture, engineering and surveying firm with offices located in Albany, Buffalo, New York City and Watertown.
Design Workshop promoted Coleen Shade and Eric Roverud to associate. Shade has served as a planner for Design Workshop for two years. Roverud joined the firm in 2004 after earning his masters degree in landscape architecture from the University of Minnesota. John P. Gwozdz of Franklin earned his licensure in landscape architecture and became Westborough-based Meridian Associates?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR? newest LEED certified team member. Gwozdz is a member of the United States Green Building Council, American Society of Landscape Architects and American Society of Landscape Architects.
