Landform Design Group, a design/build firm, just returned from Orlando, bringing home several awards from Florida Nursery & Growers Landscape Association. The firm submitted a project in the Bahamas named Overyonder Cay. "This multi-year on-going project was a huge dedication and effort on everyone's part," said principal Malcolm Miller. "I am proud to be part of a great team of designers and contractors to make this project an outstanding environmentally conscience destination."

SmithGroupJJR, an architecture, engineering and planning firm, has hired Debra Axelrood, LEED AP and Tony Catchot at its Ann Arbor, Mich. office. Axelrood joins the firm as landscape architect after leading her own firm, Debra Axelrood, LLC, specializing in sustainable urban, healthcare and residential environments. With 35 years of experience, she is widely recognized for creating engaging and sensitive environments. Catchot rejoins SmithGroupJJR as a principal landscape architect, coming from the University of Michigan, where he was assistant university planner for the past 10 years. A previous 19-year employee of the firm, Catchot was hired by the University and coordinated with facility managers, faculty, staff and students relative to ongoing and future planning, design and construction activities.

Gina Smith has rejoined SPVV Landscape Architects of Spokane, Wash., as a landscape designer. Smith, who previously served as a landscape designer, holds a LEED accreditation, and will be responsible for designing, estimating and managing the development of landscapes for governmental, commercial and educational commissions.

American Planning Association Pennsylvania chapter named Jim Pashek, planner, registered landscape architect and CEO of Pashek Associates Ltd. in Pittsburgh, the winner of the 2015 award for Planning Leadership by a Professional Planner. The award recognizes outstanding, significant and sustained contributions to the profession through distinguished practice, and places Pashek among the best and brightest in Pennsylvania Planning in 2015.

Rosie Foulke joins the business development team of Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf as business development manager. She will work to grow and enrich the sales, marketing and partnership initiatives that reflect the firm. A Purdue graduate, Foulke brings her years of client relations, marketing and business experience to Browning Day. The multidisciplinary design firm is located in Indianapolis, recognized for its design and innovative approach to architecture, landscape architecture and sustainability design.

Miller Legg, a 50-year-old multi-disciplined consulting firm, announced that Dylan Larson has been appointed to the City of Plantation, Fla. landscape planning and review board. Larson, a resident of the City of Plantation, has been with the firm since 1994 and heads up the firm's environmental department statewide.

Wood+Partners Inc., a regional land planning and landscape architecture firm, recently added staff in its Hilton Head Island, S.C. office. Erik Ladd joins the firm as a project planner. He brings over seven years of design and planning experience to the firm. Erik earned a bachelor of landscape architecture from University of Georgia. He also earned a bachelor of arts in anthropology from Georgia Southern University. Taylor Ladd has joined WPi as a project planner. She brings over six years of GIS management, conservation planning and design communication experience to the firm. Taylor earned a master of landscape architecture and a bachelor of landscape architecture from University of Georgia. She volunteers for the South Carolina Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.

Rhodeside & Harwell, an award-winning landscape architecture and planning practice in the Washington, D.C., area, has promoted three senior staff members. Kurt Parker, Meredith Judy and Thomas Rainer have all been named principals of the firm. Parker joined the firm in 1994. He is a landscape architect who has overseen major projects for the firm, including site and landscape development for new U.S. Embassy campuses in North and West Central Africa, the Balkans and the Southwestern Pacific Region. Judy, LEED AP, a planner with 15 years of experience, joined Rhodeside & Harwell in 2010. She has managed several major transportation and land use planning initiatives for the firm, including the award-winning Hull Street Corridor Revitalization Plan for the City of Richmond and Chesterfield County, Va. Rainer is a landscape architect with 14 years of experience. He joined the firm in 2009 and has directed the landscape design for many major projects.
