The 486-room Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch is a resort hotel with 20,000 square feet of swimming pools in separate pools, 28 fountains, 47 waterfalls, a water slide and a beach.

The design is based on Mayan themes which include a Water Temple and aqueduct. Bougainvilkea drips from the structures and date palms form outdoor rooms for various activities.

There are six distinct gandens including a 100 by 120-foot, four-color sand painting on the roof of the ballroom, a fountain court and the Swan Court with outdoor dining in the middle of a pond.

SWA was responsible for all of the exterior design. The architect was Homberger Worstell Associates of San Francisco.

Congratulations to The SWA Group for their outstanding work. A $25.00 donation has been made on their behalf by Nightscaping and The Landscape Architect and Specifier News.
