As owners, Kent Gregoire has been named CEO, and Steve Cornwell has been named president and COO. Gregoire has dedicated his career as an entrepreneur where he has served as founder and CEO of several companies and transitioning them into rapid-growth organizations. His success stems from fostering a culture of empowerment among those who are part of his corporate teams. Cornwell has been successful as an executive in both Fortune 500 firms and privately held enterprises. He has a diverse background with specialized knowledge and expertise in the areas of human resources, organizational development, recruitment and strategic planning.

Professional Grounds Management Society announced its 2014 collegiate scholarship recipients. This year's recipients include: Jeffery Fox of Clark State College received $1,100; Julia Thome of University of Maryland received $900; Jacob Suissa of University of Vermont and Clinton Truitt of Gwinnett Technical College both received $550. Each year the scholarship committee awards scholarships to students in horticulture or related fields. The awards committee looks for students who have solid grades and past or current employment in the green industry, involvement in the industry with apprentice or professional organizations as well as civic projects and outreach programs.

Wenk Associates expanded its leadership team. Nicole Horst and Greg Dorolek have been named principals of the firm. Horst leads the firm's national parks and open space practice, and is currently managing work on Confluence Park at the junction of the Platte River and Cherry Creek in downtown Denver. She has led the design of several of the firm's award winning projects in Colorado and across the U.S. Dorolek leads the firm's planning and design for civic, urban infill, and institutional campus projects. He is currently leading the Alpine Valley project at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and previously led the design of the firm's award winning work at Mariposa for the DHA, and TAXI II in Denver.

Sports Turf Managers Association, the professional organization for those who manage sports fields worldwide, announced its 2014 Board of Directors. David Pinsonneault, Certified Sports Field Manager (CSFM) and Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), is its newly-elected president. Other STMA members elected to the board include: president-elect Allen Johnson, CSFM, Green Bay Packers; Immediate past president James Michael Goatley, Jr., Ph.D, Virginia Tech; vice president, commercial James Graff, Graff's Turf Farms; secretary/treasurer Jeff Salmond, CSFM, University of Oklahoma; higher education director Tim Van Loo, CSFM, Iowa State University; parks and recreation director Sarah Martin, CSFM, city of Phoenix, Ariz.; academic director Jeffrey Fowler, Penn State Cooperative Extension; elected-at-large director Bradley Jakubowski, Doane College.

Visa Lighting hired Lauren Roberts as its new healthcare market development manager. She will work in conjunction with regional sales managers and independent sales agents to develop sales for the healthcare market segment. Roberts is lighting certified and spent the last eight years as a lighting designer specializing in lighting for healthcare environments. She has worked for prestigious firms such as Grenald Waldron Associates, Francis Cauffman and SBLD Studio. Mark Chittock joined No Fault Sport Group as national sales director after more than 28 years in the playground industry. He began his career with Paris Playground Equipment in 1986, initially selling wooden play structures for parks, schools and daycares throughout Canada. Chittock later became national sales manager with the company, which was eventually purchased by Rubbermaid and later sold to PlayPower, Inc. in 2004.
