The project was a pro-bono effort by Schmidt Design Group staff to express themselves artistically and educate the public on plant water use characteristics. The staff worked during evenings and weekends to create the lanterns and assemble the exhibit. San Diego companies donated the plants, decomposed granite, and etching pavers. More than 23,000 people viewed the project at the Spring Home/Garden Show. It was recognized as the ?EUR??,,????'?????<
