Andy Bowden


Andy Bowden of Land Concern - Landscape Architecture received the Outstanding Service Award from the ASLA Southern California Chapter. Bowden has served on the chapter's Executive Committee since 2002 in various roles. He just completed two terms (6 years) as the chapter trustee. Bowden was appointed to Landscape Architects Technical Committee for a three-year term last year by Governor Jerry Brown.






John Hourian


John Hourian of Hourian Associates - Landscape Architecture was honored by the Southern California Chapter ASLA for Outstanding Service. Having first served on the hapter's Executive Committee during the 1970's in two terms as chapter president, Hourian returned to the chapter in 2009 to serve again in the role of membership and, currently, as the vice president of sponsorship. He also serves as co-chairman of the board of directors of California Landscape Architectural Student Scholarship Fund (CLASS Fund).






Dominic Di Cenzo


LATICRETE, a manufacturer of installation and finishing systems for the building industry, announced Dominic Di Cenzo has joined the company's strategic accounts group as a national key accounts specialist.

In the role Di Cenzo will serve the Northeast territory which encompasses New England, the Mid Atlantic and Midwestern states. He first joined LATICRETE in 1976 as a production worker. With more than three decades of experience with the company, he has touched many aspects of company's business including customer service, technical service, traffic and distribution.

Utah Chapter of ASLA has a new executive committee. Leadersvoting has closed and the chapter welcomed its new leaders: Don Leslie, president elect; Lisa Benson, vice president membership & member services; Ben Davis, secretary; Dustin Hislop, member-at-large education & licensure.






Matthew Walsh


Hitchcock Design Group announced that Matthew Walsh is now licensed by the Department of Professional Regulation of Illinois as a registered landscape architect and has been promoted internally from Project Designer to Associate I. He joins the professionals at the firm who have already passed the Landscape Architecture Registration Exam. During his tenure with the firm, Walsh has been involved with numerous award winning projects and his design talents are currently being applied to Arkadia, Tapestry Promenade and the Chicago Park District's Big Marsh Eco-Recreation Park and West Ridge Nature Preserve.






Shannon Karlson


BMLA Landscape Architecture, a Southern California-based landscape architecture firm, has promoted Shannon Karlson from project manager to director of production. He has been with the firm since 1998. Karlson earned his bachelor of science in landscape architecture from Cal Poly Pomona. He will be responsible for the development of construction documents and field operations. He will also serve on the executive team.

TO Design, LLC, a New Britain, Conn.-based landscape architecture firm, announced that Jonathan Tunsky has joined the team as a landscape architect, project manager. He is a licensed landscape architect with a bachelor's degree from SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry. Tunsky has worked for the past eight years with Richter & Cegan of Avon, Conn.






Devon Santy


Stan Clauson Associates welcomed Devon Santy to its firm. He joins SCA as a landscape designer and planner. Santy previously worked for Boulder County, where he assisted residents with floor recovery efforts. With an undergraduate degree in geology and a master's degree in landscape architecture from Cal Poly Pomona, he has a wide range of experience including work for the National Park Service, a municipal parks department, and a private landscape architecture firm.






Rick Conner


Land Design Group recently celebrated its fifth year anniversary. Rick Conner is the firm's principal and is responsible for client contact/business development and oversees general operations of the firm. He has over 35 years experience as a landscape architect and received his B.S. degree in landscape architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He currently serves as an exam committee member for CLARB and as an instructor for the Landscape Architecture Extension Program at the University of California, Berkeley.






Jon Schmidt


This has been a stellar year for Jon Schmidt. His Land Planning and Landscape Architecture firm, Jon E. Schmidt & Associates, received an Award of Honor from Florida Chapter of ASLA, as well as the Merit Award from the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), for a private Equestrian Estate in Wellington Florida. Schmidt was awarded Landscape Architect of the Year by Palm Beach Chapter of American Institute of Architects.
