It's Christmas time, and that's a time, for all to spread good cheer
And so with that, we tip our hat and reflect upon the year

Starting with the Landscape, the business that we chose
The year's been good, I'd have to say, smelling like a rose

It doesn't matter where you're at, you're probably doing more
It's been a while, but that's OK, we're filling up the store

Once again, they're building homes, out across the land
And when they're done, before they sell, they're going to need your hand

As this year has been quite good the year ahead looks bright
All the signs are holding fast, and good times are in sight

So plan ahead to get ahead, the world is changing fast
We're getting so much better now at planning things that last

But sweet sixteen is going to be a year with lots to say
Outside the 'scape, out in the news, there's so much that's in play

The country's been in turmoil and there's tension in the air
Everyone is shouting, gimme, gimme my fair share

It doesn't matter who you are, your life has value, true
It doesn't matter if you're black, or red or white or blue

But some are getting crazy, for free will is not their choice
They're yelling louder every day, and violence is their voice

It seems that those who have it bad are mad at those who smile
And rather than just joining in, they're making things quite vile

But this is not a landscape where all is mean and sad
This is a great country where all should be quite glad

We've got it good, above the rest, no matter who you are
Love your neighbor as yourself and you can be a star

And as a star, up on the hill, there's going to be a bump
Can't say yet, but there's a bet, that it could be a Trump

So sweet sixteen is going to be a doozy of a year
And let's just hope it's full of zest and not just full of fear

The reason why so much is good is not some mis-ter-ee
It's really clear, it's oh so plain, it's in our his-stor-ee

So many are before us, their blood, their sweat, their tears
And we should all be thankful that some have been our peers

Yet history today, it seems, is just the last minute's text
OMG, LOL, Emojis have us vexed

But take some time to look far back and see from whence we came
And remember those who led the way, and speak of them by name

So thinking back, while looking near, yet moving t'ward the light
The landscape's getting better, with better things in sight

So lift a glass, to this year's past, and sweet sixteen's good cheer
And have a Merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Year!
