T?EUR??,,????'???were the days before Christmas And all through the land, Many were pleading, ?EUR??,,????'??Please give us a hand!?EUR??,,????'??
Big business is hurting. The money?EUR??,,????'???s been tight. Yet they?EUR??,,????'???ve pushed and they?EUR??,,????'???ve wiggled with all their might . . .
But Bankers are missing . . . Many are broke. Bad loans they have made, to nonqualified folk.
So how did we get, to the point that we?EUR??,,????'???re at? When it hasn?EUR??,,????'???t been long, since we all felt quite fat.
Some say it was Acorn. Yet that seems sublime . . . Still, it was they who pushed the sub-prime . . .
And oil was cheap, for both you and for me. So we all thought we?EUR??,,????'???d buy, that old big SUV.
And homes that did once seem so far out of reach . . . Were bought for a buck, from the hills to the beach.
Who cared if the home was worth this or worth that? At one percent interest, we all threw in our hat!
Then all at once . . . Yet it took most a year . . . Those markets that flourished, were filled up with fear.
Some did say, ?EUR??,,????'??Wait! I threw in my hat . . . But I just can?EUR??,,????'???t believe my house is worth that!?EUR??,,????'??
And what do you mean my interest went higher? That?EUR??,,????'???s not what I thought, when I first was the buyer!
So as prices came down and payments went up . . . Some wanted to sell, but soon found they were stuck.
The banks held bad paper. No sellers could sell. The whole housing market just all went to . . . Well . . .
Then all of a sudden, the gas that was cheap . . . Made all of us dig in our pockets quite deep . . .
What started at two, was now racing past four . . . And there only seemed like, one way out through that door.
So people said, ?EUR??,,????'??Hey! I can?EUR??,,????'???t pay for my house . . . And my car is so big, I feel like a mouse!?EUR??,,????'??
If only the bank, could just give me more money . . . We?EUR??,,????'???ll look back and say, that this time was just funny.
But Freddie and Fannie and Indy weren?EUR??,,????'???t lending . . . And for big SUV?EUR??,,????'???s, the people weren?EUR??,,????'???t spending . . .
Then came the summer, of Barack and McCain. The politicos spoke, and we all went insane . . .
Drill baby, drill! The depression?EUR??,,????'???s in range! Watch out for your money . . . But don?EUR??,,????'???t forget change!
And with housing and autos, and elections in rumble . . . It only made sense . . . That stocks would soon tumble.
So here we all sit with our hands in our pockets . . . You might get my cash, if you tear out my sockets!!!
Yes, this is the state of the union we?EUR??,,????'???re in. And if you?EUR??,,????'???re looking for bad, then the ?EUR??,,????'??News?EUR??,,????'??? has your spin . . .
But that is not how this country was made. We?EUR??,,????'???ve never been ones to say, ?EUR??,,????'??We?EUR??,,????'???re afraid!?EUR??,,????'??
We pull up our boots, and step in the mud. And we figure a way to clear out the crud.
We look at the bright side, for things could be worse . . . And things will get better, that?EUR??,,????'???s part of this verse . . .
But first I must say that I?EUR??,,????'???m still a bit mad . . . ?EUR??,,????'??Cause I did like Bush, but he was treated so bad.
So many did bash him, but he never did waiver . . . He won in Iraq, and did us a favor!
He gave more to schools, and to health and to AIDS . . . Than all those before him, but never to praise . . .
He held up his shoulders, his faith like a rock. But now things have changed . . . We?EUR??,,????'???ve elected Barack.
That wasn?EUR??,,????'???t my vote . . . Not a part of that trance. But now that he?EUR??,,????'???s there, let?EUR??,,????'???s all give him a chance.
Already he?EUR??,,????'???s opened, so many a door . . . For racism?EUR??,,????'???s dead. He?EUR??,,????'???s cleaned up that floor!
And onward he?EUR??,,????'???s moving . . . Big posts did he fill. And hopefully, now, he can conquer The Hill
No . . . Bail outs and taxes, are not what we need! But more business and workers, and plantings of seed . . .
Those hundreds of billions are not for a few . . . There?EUR??,,????'???s plenty of building and work we can do.
Power plants, bridges and roads could we use . . . To build our way out of this great house of blues.
Let?EUR??,,????'???s get this thing moving. Not give it away! We?EUR??,,????'???re in this together, and we?EUR??,,????'???re in it to stay!!!
Now as we move forward, with God?EUR??,,????'???s hand on our back . . . Let?EUR??,,????'???s look for that lining, and pick up the slack . . .
For now is the time to hold our heads high. Remember our loved ones, and reach for the sky!
The future is ours . . . Let that future be bright! Merry Christmas to all . . . And to all a good night!
?EUR??,,????'??+God Bless
