Down to Earth Landscaping recently plead guilty in a court in Florida to two of the four summonses issued after a hydroseed trailer became separated from a truck and caused an accident.
The trailer became disconnected from the 2004 Chevrolet truck that was pulling it. It struck a school bus, injuring the bus driver and sending several children to area hospitals.
The company paid dines and court fees totaling $1,078.
The landscapers plead guilty to having a worn trailer hitch and for having inoperative trailer brakes, thus acknowledging their improper actions.
The driver of the truck, pleaded guilty to his summons for failure to maintain the proper lane, however he was not injured in the accident.
The prosecutor said safety is of paramount importance when pulling a trailer or boat. No criminal charges are being pursued at this time.
