The Lighting Research Center (LRC) of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, New York will offer two Landscape Lighting Institutes this winter, which will address the need for practical and comprehensive instruction in landscape lighting. Similar to last year's successful Landscape Lighting Institute, these intensive sessions combine classroom instruction, hands-on evaluation of products, and design projects with evaluations of landscape lighting installations. Landscape Architects, lighting specifiers, landscape contractors, lighting designers and garden designers will gain extensive experience with landscape lighting design, techniques and products. All sessions will be led by LRC Senior Lighting Designer Janet Lenox Moyer, IES, IALD, an internationally recognized designer and instructor in the landscape lighting field.

The LRC session in Seattle, Washington (December 3-5, 1998) will take place at the Heronswood Garden, and will provide opportunity to explore techniques for lighting sculpture, water features, plants, paths, walkways and stairs. The LRC session in Scottsdale, Arizona (December 15-20, 1998) will take place on the Hyatt Resort's 640 acres, and is designed for those who wish to advance their knowledge in commercial landscape lighting.
