For more than three decades, the International Landscape Lighting Institute (ILLI) has carried forward the teaching philosophy of renowned landscape lighting designer Janet Lennox Moyer: the best way to truly understand light is to experience it.

 

ILLI brings attendees together with some of the most accomplished and decorated landscape lighting designers in the industry for an immersive week of learning, experimentation, and hands-on field work. Working in small teams alongside experienced mentors, students don't simply hear about lighting techniques - they install them, aim them, evaluate them, make mistakes, make adjustments, and see firsthand how light can completely transform a landscape after dark. For Landscape Architects, that experience can fundamentally change the way they design.
