Landscape H2O Use Study

30 percent to 300 percent of water used for landscape irrigation is typically wasted. With water rates rising sharply across the country, company executives face increased expenses and water bills, along with hardscape damage and liabilities, which can total 5 to 10 times the cost of water.

Many companies are overlooking what could become the most critical green initiative of them all – water conservation. 77 percent of business executives felt water management was extremely critical to business, according to a recent survey conducted by Sharon Nunes, VP, IBM Big Green Innovations. Of those responding, 51 percent lacked formal guidelines for implementing and an additional 63 percent lacked access to integrated water management systems.

While Nunes recognized corporate leaders for achieving substantial water savings indoors, throughout the supply chain and in consumer education, HydroPoint identified the greatest potential for water conservation and financial savings in outdoor water use.

HydroPoint’s weather-based smart controllers take the guesswork out of how much and how often water is needed to keep landscapes healthy.
