Landscape Equipment Manufacturer Kicks Off Program to Recognize Military and Emergency Services Personnel

The Fisher House program is a private-public partnership that supports America's military by donating "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to loved ones during their hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. There is at least one Fisher House at every major military medical center like this one in Washington D.C.

The True Blue Salute program, which includes price reductions to armed forces members, police officers and firefighters on selected New Holland equipment, and a donation for each qualifying model sold, is once again underway.

Between September 11 and Veteran's Day, November 11, military and emergency services personnel and their families will receive a $911 discount on certain types of equipment. In addition, the manufacturer will donate $250 to the Fisher House Foundation each time one is sold.

The Fisher House program builds homes at major military and VA medical centers and allows the families of hospitalized military members to stay for free. Annually, the program serves more than 12,000 families, and has made available over three million days of lodging to family members since the program originated in 1990. "This is our way of saying "thank you' to all who serve," says Abe Hughes, vice president, New Holland North America.

The offer is available to all active and retired military personnel, veterans, police officers, firefighters and their families (including volunteer firefighters and police officers) on the purchase of new equipment, including certain tractors, skid steer loaders, compact track loaders, compact excavators, compact wheel loaders, tractor loaders and tractor/loader/backhoes sold in the U.S. by an authorized dealer. Veterans and military personnel will need to show a valid, government-issued military ID card or other proof of service to receive the discount.

Since January 2012, New Holland has raised over $1.2 million for the Fisher House from past programs.
