COLUMBUS, Ohio ?EUR??,,????'????EUR??,,????'??? The House Finance Committee recently approved Ohio?EUR??,,????'???s biennial budget bill, HB 95. Part of the budget included the acceptance of an omnibus amendment that removed the exterior design tax, also known as the landscape design tax. The Legislative Budget Office had predicted the exterior design tax would generate nearly $24 million over the biennium. Because the legislature had to find funds elsewhere, the exterior design tax was replaced with new service/sales tax, which includes snow removal. According to Dan Jones, a legislative consultant for the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association, the ONLA Legislative Committee and the ONLA Board will be trying to decide whether to oppose this issue as the bill moves through the Senate.
