Landscape Contractor Wins Women In Business Award





As co-owner of Lewey Landscaping & LawnCare in Raleigh, N.C., Kim Lewey is actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the business.

Kim Lewey of Lewey Landscaping & LawnCare, Inc. has been named a winner of Triangle Business Journal's 2013 Women in Business Awards. The awards program recognizes women leaders in the Triangle region, a 13 county area in North Carolina that encompasses the cities of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, for significant accomplishments in business and community service.

Along with her husband Mike, Lewey established the landscaping company in 2001. It is a full-service business that serves both commercial and residential clients in the region.

According to the company, Lewey oversees a staff of 10 employees and has an active role in daily operations, marketing, customer relations and financing. In 2012, the company exceeded 20 percent in revenue growth.

Lewey also is president of the 2013-2014 board of directors for the National Association of Women Business Owners, Greater Raleigh chapter, an ambassador for Soroptimist International of Raleigh and an advisory board member and mentor for I'm A Great Child WorldwideSM.

Her landscape firm provides lawn maintenance services pro bono for the offices of Triangle Family Services. She recently joined the Circle of Red for the American Heart Association to help raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases, particularly among women.

Lewey will be recognized at an awards luncheon on Aug. 20 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham, N.C.
