Landscape Company Helps Community Stay Warm

Raleigh is the capital and the second largest city in the state of North Carolina. It is known as the "City of Oaks" for its many oak trees, which line the streets in the heart of the city. The average daily temperature in January is 41 F. On average, there are 69 nights per year that drop to or below freezing.

Landscape companies often donate their time and talents to enhance local neighborhoods. Greenscape of Raleigh, N.C., is finding another way to contribute to their community's wellbeing. For the second year, they are partnering with advertising and marketing firm, vitalink® to benefit the Raleigh Rescue Mission by collecting coats, blankets and cold weather gear from October 14 through November 24.

"Once again as part of our Community Outreach program, we will be participating in vitalink® Coats & Blankets Drive to help the homeless in the Raleigh area," says Daniel Currin, president of Greenscape Inc. "Raleigh Rescue Mission is a great organization that makes a true difference in the community. Last year, not only did we have residential clients contribute, the LaQuinta Inn at the RDU airport donated all their old bedding sets and blankets for the mission. We hope in 2013 to exceed last year's donations."

Greenscape Inc. was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Holly Springs, N.C., outside of Raleigh. Their team consists of professional landscape architects, designers and horticulturists who specialize in residential and commercial landscape design/build, landscape management, and landscape specialty services including irrigation and landscape lighting. The company also owns Weed Man® franchises in the Triangle area and Wilmington, N. C., providing a full range of lawn care services including weed, insect and disease management, as well as aeration and seeding. And they support Come Alive Outside, a movement that encourages land care professionals to design, build and maintain spaces that bring people back outdoors.
