Landscape Architecture Firm Announces Staff Changes

Two Elevated to Principals

Gail Wittwer-Laird and Jacob Lange have been named principals for Starr Whitehouse Landscape Architects and Planners.

Starr Whitehouse Landscape Architects and Planners recently announced the promotion of multiple team members to new positions of leadership in the firm, including the elevation of Gail Wittwer-Laird and Jacob Lange to firm principals. Wittwer-Laird will be directing Starr Whitehouse's new office in Hudson, New York. She currently leads the efforts on Hudson's Promenade Hill Park and New York State's Empire State Trail. Lange will continue his directorship of the Atlanta office where he is starting two green infrastructure projects for that city and a new waterfront park in Roswell, Georgia.


Other promotions revealed were: Michael Haggerty, now a senior associate who will lead the firm's urban strategy as the director of urban design; Janet Broughton, now an associate and assistant studio director who is currently leading Starr Whitehouse's work on the Battery PlayScape; Kristen Reardon, another new associate and is managing two projects at Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, New York; and Kirk Hiatt, who will be guiding the firm's digital resources and graphic strategy as the new director of technology.

In the statement announcing the promotions, the firm stated, "We are excited to welcome this new generation of designers and visionaries as leaders in our firm, and to tackle the challenges and opportunities of a changing world with them."
