Landscape Architects Honor Piers Park and Designer

The American Society Landscape Architects at its annual meeting named Brooklyn Bridge Park and its designer, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, as recipients of an Honor Award for Analysis and Planing. The society?EUR??,,????'?????<

Two other New York projects were recognized: Tear Drop Park in Battery Park City, also by Van Valkenburgh, and the Museum of Modern Art Roof Garden by Ken Smith.

The park covers 85 waterfront acres, stretching 1.3 miles from John Street north of the Manhattan Bridge to Atlantic Avenue in the south. Pier 1, near Brooklyn Bridge, and Pier 6, at Atlantic Avenue, are now being landscaped and are expected to be open to the public by year?EUR??,,????'?????<
