Arlington, Mass., like many communities, faces complex problems: land-use decisions, zoning reform, balancing residential and commercial growth, building more affordable housing and finding the funds to maintain schools and parks.


Clarissa Rowe, a landscape architect who has served as an Arlington, Mass. Town Meeting member for 14 years, is running for a position on the Arlington Board of Selectmen. The vote takes place April 1. Rowe is an Arlington resident for nearly 30 years and raised her family here. Rowe?EUR??,,????'???s campaign message to the voters, printed in the Arlington Advocate, expressed that she?EUR??,,????'???s a hardworking small business owner, understands what it takes to succeed and believes small businesses are the engine of the city?EUR??,,????'???s economy. He goals are to rebuild two schools and three aging fire stations, support the libraries and hold down taxes. She asserts the need for long-term solutions to flooding problems facing East Arlington and vows to protect the Mugar land for flood control.

Rowe has chaired Preservation Mass, and served as founder and president of Friends of Menotomy Rocks Park and the Arlington Land Trust.
