In recognition of his lifetime of achievements in the field, the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) will present landscape architect Lawrence Halprin with the prestigious Michelangelo Award. Halprin is one of America?EUR??,,????'???s premier landscape architects. His body of work includes: Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco; FDR Memorial in Washington D.C.; and the Walter and Elise Haas Promenade in Jerusalem.






Halprin?EUR??,,????'???s Seattle Freeway Park was built partially over a freeway in Seattle, to utilize and reconnect the landscape.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2005 during the 50th anniversary celebration of CSI?EUR??,,????'???s San Francisco chapter at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. CSI created the Michelangelo Award in 2004 to pay tribute to an individual for a lifetime of distinguished, innovative service to building design and construction.
