LAGE Design

by Faith Ann Logsdon, Director of Business Development & Client Relations

The LAGE Design team has been all about growth in 2023. We continue to diversify the types of projects that we're working on and we have focused on expanding our client base. We have officially hired our first employee based in Northern Nevada, where we have been fortunate to be working on a range of projects from highway/roadway to fire stations. The addition of our northern Nevada operation is exciting for our southern Nevada team, providing them with opportunities to work in new geographic regions and solidify our reach as a premier landscape architecture firm in the west.

In 2023, LAGE was the landscape architect on two teams that won in different categories for the City of Las Vegas Mayor's Urban Design Awards. These awards recognize projects that foster the City's commitment to sustainability and livability. Our team won in the Buildings & Environment category for the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This centerpiece of the Las Vegas Medical District features a green roof, a healing garden with native & medicinal plants, and a walking trail through restored native habitat. Our team also won in the Public Places category for the Historic Westside Legacy Park. This two-acre facility serves as more of a museum than park and includes creative amenities. Among them is a custom gateway and shade structure, interpretive panels, a central plaza, and a complete ADA compliant inclusive playground.
LAGE was also the landscape architect for the team winning the 2023 American Public Works Association Nevada Project of the year for transportation projects over $20M for the Spaghetti Bowl Express (SBX). LAGE was responsible for conceptual design, writing technical provisions, and performed construction observation. In addition, our team worked closely with stakeholders to design spaces that reflected the history and culture of local tribes.
When we aren't in the office, we get together and do fun things like ice skating at our neighborhood ice rink, BBQs, and attending plays in the park. We also incorporate fun into our work environment with birthday lunches and one putt Wednesdays! We are all looking forward to the exciting projects we have on deck for 2024 as we continue to create unique outdoor spaces in the west.
