LAF Gives Three Awards

LAF 2024 Awards Dinner

Frederick Steiner, FASLA (pictured above receiving his award), Lucinda R. Sanders, EdD, PLA, FASLA, and the International Living Future Institute were all recognized at the 2024 LAF Awards Dinner.

At their recent Awards Dinner, the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF) recognized the 2024 recipients of three prestigious awards: the LAF Medal, the LAF Founders' Award, and the LAF Legacy Award.

The LAF Medal: Given to a Landscape Architect who shows distinguished work in sustainability over the course of their career, this year's award was given to Frederick Steiner, FASLA, an ecological planner, author, the Dean of the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design, and the Co-Executive Director of the Ian L. McHarg Center for Urbanism and Ecology.

The LAF Founders' Award: Presented to the International Living Future Institute, this award is granted to a firm, agency, or organization who shows a significant and sustained commitment to the thriving of landscapes.

The LAF Legacy Award: Reserved for those who have served on the LAF Board of Directors and made great contributions to the LAF, this award was bestowed upon Lucinda R. Sanders, EdD, PLA, FASLA, whose contributions to the organization led to the creation of the LAF Fellowship for Leadership and Innovation.
