LAF Announces Seven Fellows for 2018-2019
Each Receives $25,000 to Pursue Projects

LAF has announced the seven fellows taking part in its fellowship program for 2018-2019. They will receive funding mentorship opportunities and share their work at a symposium.

The Landscape Architecture Foundation has announced a complete list of projects being worked on by fellows for the 2018-2019 year.

The LAF Fellowship for Innovation and Leadership is in its second year. Each fellow will receive $25,000 and dedicate 12 weeks over the next year to their proposed project.

This will consist of facilitated discussions, critiques and mentorship for the fellows. They will also receive three 3-day residencies in Washington, D.C., where they will also showcase completed work.

This year's Fellows and their projects are:

• Pamela Conrad - The Landscape Carbon Calculator: A Tool to Understand and Reduce our Carbon Footprint
• Maisie Hughes - Thou Shalt Not Trespass: Cultural Diversity and Landscape Interpretation
• Karl Krause - The Landscape of Public Housing
• Sanjukta Sen - Volume for Water: Legislating Our Urban Waterfronts for a Resilient Future

Olmsted Scholars are selected to participate in the fellowship program as well, where they can advance their ideas to prepare for funding opportunities and partnerships.

Participants this year are:
• David de la Cruz (2017 National Olmsted Scholar, graduate) - Environmental Justice Through Community Engagement and Education
• Lauren Delbridge (2017 National Olmsted Scholar, undergraduate) - Coal Ash Ponds and Designed Remediation
• Andrew Sargeant (2016 University Olmsted Scholar) - Immersive Technology and Landscape Architecture
