LAF Announces 2020 Scholarship Winners

Seventeen Landscape Architect Students Were Rewarded for Their Academic Accomplishments

$103,000 was granted towards the next generation of landscape architects.

The Landscape Architect Foundation (LAF) proudly announced the awarding of over $100,000 worth of scholarships to young, aspiring landscape architects. Seventeen students received a scholarship ranging from $2,000 to $20,000, depending on the award. Many of them included funding for the student to travel to the annual ASLA meeting.


Specific criteria were sought after when determining the appropriate students to award. In particular, LAF looked to reward excellent academic performance, diversity, and the support of original research. Furthermore, they prioritized the assistance of students who had financial need. Leaders in the landscape architecture industry who made up juries assorted by LAF selected each candidate through a selection process. The education levels of the awarded students brought an extra layer of diversity. The students accounted for six bachelor's degrees, nine master's degrees, one certificate, and one Ph.D.

LAF relies on donations from sponsors to upkeep their contributions to the future of the landscape architecture industry. With this annual round of LAF grant winners, they have now helped over 600 students with $1.5 million in awarded scholarship money. over the years.
