April has been proclaimed National Landscape Architecture Month, but in addition, through the efforts of Stephanie Landregan, trustee for the Southern California ASLA Chapter, and Glen Dake, ASLA, the city of Los Angeles has also declared April 2007 ?EUR??,,????'??Landscape Architecture Month.?EUR??,,????'?? Because landscape architects play such an important role in certifying landscapes, evaluating the health of native trees, evaluating programs to clean up the city?EUR??,,????'???s rivers, bays and coastline and safeguarding the public through their expertise and stewardship of the environment, Mayor Villaraigosa has implemented this resolution.

As a chapter, the SCCASLA has been working very hard on many different projects and events throughout the area. Angela Woodward, Stephanie Landregan and Andy Bowden will be going to Washington D.C. to participate in Lobby Day activities to help discuss important issues with legislators. Stephanie has also been working with the L.A. Mayor?EUR??,,????'???s office to help promote his One Million Tree campaign. With the help of other green industry participants, she is leading a group to plant trees in inner-city schools.

There are a lot of exciting things going on with the ASLA on both the national and state levels, and LASN would like to hear about them as they are happening. Send us any news that explains what your chapters are up to, and we?EUR??,,????'???ll make sure everyone hears about it.
