U.S. Senator Herb Kohl got $350M in funding for Milwaukee as part of the city?EUR??,,????'???s plan to stop stormwater runoff and improve school grounds. The plan involves planting 1,000 trees at 75 school playgrounds that are currently covered in asphalt. This project, part of the Urban and Community Forestry program, will improve water quality in the watershed. Similar plans have been used with great success in other communities. In all, 3,000 trees will be planted around the city.
