Kist Earns National Recognition

GREENDALE, Wis. - The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) selected Roger Kist, Manager of Parks for the Washington County Planning and Parks and the current President of the Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association (WPRA), as the recipient of the prestigious ROSE Award.

The NRPA hands out the ROSE Award (Recognition Of Significant Efforts) to recognize those individuals who have gone out of their way to advance parks and recreation in their community. Kist was chosen based on several achievements he has made in his community.

Of those achievements, Kist has represented the WPRA and the Washington County Planning and Parks Department. For them he has been a presenter, internship supervisor, workshop coordinator and has done countless other items to promote the organizations.

Kist has also made the State Association one of the more prominent organizations in the nation with his innovative leadership style and initiatives. He often appears at State and National Capitols to bring attention to legislative issues.

Honors will be given to Kist during the WPRA's 36th Annual Conference on November 8, 2001.
