Friedges Landscaping
by Staff

King's Park wanted a fully accessible 9-hole mini golf course in between its numerous baseball and softball fields, which includes a diamond for ADA Miracle League Baseball. The area slated for the mini golf course was a grassy hill, so a retaining wall to create a flat area for the mini golf course was a part of the plan. The hill needed to be excavated and brought to grade; Friedges hired a soil engineer for soil corrections. Friedges completed all the earthwork and installed the drain tile and geogrid-engineered VERSA-LOK Square Foot wall, which is 10 feet at the highest. Another firm built the mini golf course on top. Because Friedges knew there would be concrete areas on top for the mini golf course holes, it created three unique notch-outs where the wall was lowered by one course for water overflow. Fencing was also installed on the wall.
