Kentucky Welcomes Executive Committee Meeting with President Pleasant Hill, KY The Kentucky chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recently welcomed The National Executive Committee of the ASLA aboard the Dixie Belle for a cruise on the river. The event was attended by members of the committee and ASLA president Jan Schach. "The executive committee held its summer meeting at Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill," said Schach. "The highlight was Grady Clay presenting the wooden letters "L" and "A" to me as president. He had picked them up at an auction intending to place above the doors of the Landscape Architecture Magazine when it was headquartered in Louisville, KY. The architectural ordinances did not allow such a thing so he saved them for placement at ASLA headquarters. The chapter also graciously bid me farewell after 19 years in Kentucky." Schach moves onto to her new position as Dean of the College of Architecture, Arts, and Humanities at Clemson University in South Carolina.
