There is no rushing natural design and if you are patient, nature yields the most beautiful results. Conglomerate or Jurassic Stone as Stone Forest calls it, is a delight to behold. Made from pebbles compressed together naturally, the stone is rounded by the action of water over what could be hundreds or even thousands of years.

Because the pebbles have been transported by water they are usually a wide variety of rock types and are various sizes and shapes. The pebbles are then naturally cemented together by silica, calcite and iron oxides, which are organic and naturally occurring minerals. The process produces stones.

"Stone Forest products are the perfect blend of casual elegance and sustainability, which reflects my preferred design philosophy," said Daniel Nix, owner of Dannix Design in Kirkland Wash.

The collection made innovative use of Conglomerate or Jurassic Stone, by creating an entire garden collection. Often used as ornamental rocks for buildings and monuments, Stone Forest has found other uses. They make use of the organic shapes and natural variations in color and pattern and have enlarged them into a garden collection that includes vases, seating and fountains. Pebble Collection fountains are hand-carved and stand at 24", 48", and 60" tall, and weigh up to 3,500 lbs.

By offering products that are so unique (each is essentially one-of-a-kind), they provide a way for landscape contractors and designers to differentiate themselves in a competitive market. For more information go to www.stoneforest.com.

"Stone Forest's attention to detail and craftsmanship, and its faithful following of our custom designs is very impressive," said David Engel, partner of Landgarden in New York City.
