In 2000, a Cape Cod-style oceanfront estate with a private beach on Pebble Beach's 17-Mile Drive sold to Silicon Valley businessman Tom Siebel for $28 million. The home made news again in 2012 when the new owner, Blossom Cove LLC, had it razed to construct a 7,059-sq. ft. single-family craftsman home ("Blossom Cove') with a 3,508-sq. ft. basement, an attached three-car garage and a guest house. The property has views of Stillwater Cove, Carmel Bay, Pebble Beach Golf Links and is a short walk to The Lodge at Pebble Beach. The plants for the property range from natives to succulents. Numerous heritage oak trees with Spanish moss shade the property.

Jensen Landscape and Village Nurseries have teamed up to supply, design and install four recent Northern California landscape installations that run the gamut from commercial and residential to green roof and senior housing. The four projects are Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara; Hall Winery in St. Helena; "Blossom Cove' on Pebble Beach's 17-Mile Drive; and Stoneridge Creek Community in Pleasanton.

Hall Winery is in St. Helena, Calif., the heart of Napa Valley. The landscape includes multitudes of fragrant lavenders, free flowing grasses and hardy native California plants that frame the property's outdoor art sculptures.

Jensen, founded in 1969, is a leading landscape construction and maintenance services. company based in San Jose, Calif., with nine branch offices throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Livermore and Monterey Bay regions. Jensen reports it is the largest employee-owned landscape firm in California. Notable projects include the Pacific Shores Center, Walnut Creek Veterans Memorial, California Academy of Science, and the headquarters of Sun Microsystems and Oracle.

Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., is the new NFL home of the San Francisco 49ers. The 20,000 sq. ft. green roof at the stadium is a patchwork of geometrical shapes and colors. The green roof will get more national attention that most, given that the plants will be on view whenever footage is shown from the Goodyear Blimp on game day. Important plant selection criteria included withstanding wind and heat conditions.

Village Nurseries, founded in 1976, has wholesale sales offices in Orange and Sacramento, California, and more than 900 acres under cultivation in growing facilities in Northern and Southern California. According to Adam Lambre, Jensen's plant purchasing specialist, Village Nurseries was able to deliver the most prime plant material at any given time of the year, as Village can pull from crops in southern California, which has a much longer and more temperate growing season than northern California."

Stoneridge Creek Community in Pleasanton, Calif. (East Bay Area) is an upscale senior housing development with a wide variety of native plants, evergreens, perennials and a mix of colorful annuals.
