LASN?EUR??,,????'???s associate editor for lighting, Janet Lennox Moyer, IALD, will be teaching at upcoming course in November?EUR??,,????'??+at Cooper Lighting?EUR??,,????'???s educational center in Peachtree City, Georgia. The Landscape Lighting Workshop is a three-day course ($450 fee) held November 9 to 11. This workshop focuses on the unique task of landscape lighting. The task is to fuse a relationship between the environment, both inside and out and the architecture, which rests upon it. This workshop will explore techniques, equipment and materials employed to achieve a harmonizing of visual elements and design continuity and includes Cooper specific product information. [Prerequisites: Lighting Fundamentals, Lighting Design & Application for Exterior Spaces or a firm understanding of lighting basics with a focus on exterior lighting design is strongly recommended.]

Another interesting course is being held in September, Exterior Lighting Solutions, A two-day workshop, ($350 fee) held September 1-2, which will cover exterior lighting design basics and principles for area, roadway and floodlighting applications. Examine the current technologies of lamps and luminaires, learn to evaluate their operating characteristics. Ideal for those involved in design/specification or the installation of exterior lighting systems.

Focus: Community-Responsive Design Process; Light Pollution and Trespass; Color and Brightness: Visual Impact; Exterior Lighting Calculations; Criteria for Proper Equipment Selection; Roadway, Parking Areas, Streetlighting, Sportslighting, Facades, Monuments, Flags and Sign Lighting; Overview of Select Computer-Aided Design Tools; Dark-Sky Concerns.
