The Irrigation Association (IA) announced their annual award winners at the end of the 2023 Smart Irrigation Month.

 
Award winners will be honored during the 2023 Irrigation Show and Education Week in San Antonio, Texas on November 27th through December 1st.

According to the IA website, "These awards honor those who have made significant contributions to the irrigation industry, and each recipient recognized this year is a true change-maker who has made unique and meaningful accomplishments toward furthering the industry and promoting efficient irrigation."

Craig Borland, CIC, CID, CIT, CLIA, CLWM, was awarded the 2023 Industry Achievement Award. Borland is also a part of the Landscape Expo, Anaheim's 2023 Educational lineup and will be presenting Field Wiring Diagnosis on September 20th and 21st.

Craig Borland, has worked for Toro Irrigation/Irritrol for 28 years. During that time has managed the Controller Repair department, Managed the Service Center Repair program, served as Warranty Administrator, been inside sales, and is currently Sr. Customer Resource Specialist. He also provides technical support for the Engineering, Legal, Technical Support, Marketing Departments, and Micro division. He earned a B.S. degree in Fruit Science, with a Minor in Ornamental Horticulture from California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo. Mr. Borland has taught for the Irrigation Association for the past 21 years and serves on the I. Education Foundation Committee as a Subject Matter Expert.

Additionally, Aavudai Anandhi, PhD, is a recipient of the 2023 Excellence in Education Award and Robert Dobson, CIC, CID, CLIA, is a recipient of the 2023 Excellence in Education Award.
