International Horticulture Event Opens in Holland

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Horticulture professionals and garden enthusiasts will converge in Holland on April 6 to October 20, 2002, for the fifth Floriade Exhibition. The international horticulture event is held there once every ten years.

The theme for the upcoming event is "Feel the Art of Nature" and some of the features will include acres of indoor flower exhibits, various garden design displays, the largest collection of water lilies ever brought together, and a 16,000 square foot sign decorated in the famous bulb flowers of Holland. In addition, the event will showcase a display called "Homes of the Future" which forecasts life and leisure trends for the year 2010.

This year's display will contain more than 300 national and international exhibits featuring flowers, trees, perennials and Holland's famous bulb flowers. Part horticultural tourist attraction and part commercial and industrial exposition, the event is expected to draw more than three million visitors from around the world.
