Kids have always taken to city fountains, backyard sprinklers and neighborhood fire hydrants to cool off. Anywhere water has flowed, childhood imaginations have turned adult intentions into the focus of summer fun. Leading the transformation of aquatic environments, Waterplay??????oe has turned hundreds of flat concrete slabs into inspiring three dimensional water worlds. Spray parks have now sprouted up in countless communities creating a new level of interest in spray parks. As interest grew, Waterplay??????oe looked for an easier way for people to communicate their ideas, explore the possibilities and bring their ideas to life. After much brainstorming, we developed the first ever, online spray park design software. We wanted to make sure the planning process was as smooth and simple as possible, so we designed the park builder to look more like a game than a software. Using the latest Flash technology, the park builder allows users to experiment with various spray park toys and spray park layouts. Dan Perreault, a Landscape Architect from Michigan says, ?EUR??,,????'??The park builder is extremely user friendly, I like that when it comes to computers?EUR??,,????'??. Whether you are a landscape architect, engineer, parks & recreation director or community group, Waterplay?EUR??,,????'???s??????oe park builder makes designing a spray park a whole lot easier. ?EUR??,,????'??The new park builder lets me create water spray parks easily and quickly, and allows me to get valuable input from my clients. It saves me and my clients a lot of time,?EUR??,,????'?? reports Dan Perreault, Landscape Architect. Where to start? So how do you go about designing a spray park using the park builder? The spray park journey begins with visiting the Waterplay??????oe website at www.waterplay.com. The park builder icon located in the upper left corner, leads you into an assortment of pad shapes. Pick a Pad Spray parks come in all shapes and sizes, but for simplicity?EUR??,,????'???s sake, it?EUR??,,????'???s best to select a pad that represents your ideal park. After you select your pad, you will see the shape appear along with a variety of different component categories and design functions. Viewing the Budget Gallery Considering your budget and calculating costs will set your initial parameters for purchasing, surfacing, installation and maintenance. To give you an idea as to costs required in building a spray park, the budget gallery contains samples of possible designs and total park costs. Choosing components The step 2. prompt tells you to select any toy from the many spray categories (columns, flowers & trees, spirals & loops, animals, cool stuff, cannons, squirters and activators).Once you have chosen a toy, you can rotate it in the direction you want it to spray by clicking on either arrow. Once you get the desired direction, click on the pad where you want to place your toy (you should see a green square, if it?EUR??,,????'???s red, there is not enough space to place your toy). You can also delete a toy if you decide it doesn?EUR??,,????'???t quite fit with your design. Every time you select a component, a brief description, a photo and product specifications appear in the bottom right corner of the page. And every time you add a new toy to the pad, the budget calculator underneath the budget gallery provides you with an estimated total budget. This budget reflects designs using potable water only. It does not take into considered those designs incorporating a recirculating water system. The fun-o-meter located under the Waterplay??????oe logo rises every time you add a toy and shows just how much fun your park can be! Saving or Printing Your Park After you finish your creation, you can save the park for future changes, email the park to all those involved in your project or print the park and present it at your next meeting. If you decide to save the park, The Waterplay??????oe Sales Team will review it and provide you with a complete cost proposal. A good project starts with a solid plan. Planning and design are the most important elements in ensuring your spray park is successful. The park builder is here to help you put that plan in place and communicate your ideas to others. Even if you are not sure a spray park makes sense in your community, at the very least you can use the park builder to just explore the possibilities! So wipe the canvass clean, pick your secret ingredients and make that park fun again.
