Indiana Initiative INASLA Public Relations Efforts INDIANAPOLIS, IN The Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (INASLA) is in the middle of a new public relations campaign, which is financed through the new ASLA Chapter Initiatives Program. Specifically, members of INASLA-- guided by chapter president Ron Taylor-- have developed a "First Contact Packet that includes a new 24-page, full color brochure entitled Landscape Architecture: Shaping Indiana. The brochure profiles diverse project types from all over the state of Indiana, projects with specific different client types, and projects that demonstrate diverse work. The goal is to give a greater definition of the practice of Landscape Architecture, and to show that large and small communities, private and public clients, have used Landscape Architects across the state. The First Contact Packets were designed so that the chapter can use them in several different ways and for several different purposes, including target mailings, handouts at conferences and events, press kits, and as support mailings for different programs. In addition, the packet includes the newly formatted How to Select a Landscape Architect brochure, which outlines the steps in selecting a professional Landscape Architect. These extensive packets have a diverse list of uses: ?EUR??,,????'????Distributed to the public free-of-charge in the AIA Bookstore in Indianapolis, or sent to people requesting information over the phone ?EUR??,,????'????Public Relations Committee will send out press releases for all chapter events in the new packets. ?EUR??,,????'????Legislative Committee will include materials specific to the licensing effort and distribute packets to legislators ?EUR??,,????'????Distributed at Centennial Ceremonies for 100 Parks Events ?EUR??,,????'????Distributed to students at special Centennial School Educational programs throughout the year ?EUR??,,????'????Distributed to County Commissioners and Mayors at their annual meeting, and through INASLA booths at other conferences According to Taylor, "Overall, the First Contact Packets will provide INASLA with a solid marketing package upon which we can begin our outreach programs for 1999."
