The IAHP also announced that their online Certified Hydroseeding Professional seminars will continue through March. Each one-hour seminar is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Seminars are offered on a variety of topics including Basic Hydroseeding, Business Operations, Soil and Fertility Basics, Turfgrass Science and Erosion Control. Seminar participants require only internet access and a phone. Registration information is available at online seminar registration.

CHP seminars are presented live and are interactive. Each seminar is limited to 15 participants and a facilitator. Facilitators are experts in the industry or in specific disciplines. Most seminars are presented Monday through Thursday evenings to be convenient for contractors. CHP seminars include both audio and video. Participants have the ability to ask questions, discuss concepts, techniques and ideas, and interact with contractors regionally and nationally.

The CHP designation requires 40 hours of instruction, two years of hydroseeding experience and successful completion of an online certification exam. The required instruction is spread over five disciplines: Basic Hydroseeding (16 hours), Business Operations (8 hours), Soil and Fertility Basics (6 hours), Turfgrass Science (6 hours), and Erosion Control (4 hours).

"Because the IAHP recognizes that the needs of individual contractors are unique, based on experience levels and environmental factors, a range of seminars is offered within each discipline to allow individual contractors to choose the seminars that best meet their needs," states the organization's recent press release.

Participants in the IAHP online seminars do not need to be certification candidates as anyone in the green industry can take part. Contractors may also earn CHP credit at certain regional expo seminars, and submit certificates of completion from them. In addition, a number of green industry organizations offer online seminars.
