My wife does model home interiors. Any items placed in the models, whether it's just a cloth napkin or place settings at a dining room table, or ANY other object, must be glued down or otherwise attached to keep people from stealing them. "If it ain't tied down," so goes the truism, it's gone.
Landscape architects, of course, face the same problems when designing and specifying projects with public access. Clyde Workman, 81, of Warren, Ohio, however, just learned that hard lesson, reports the Tribune Chronicle. He gave of his time and labor to install a 30-foot long, two-foot wide decorative brick sidewalk along the side of the Disabled American Veterans Building. He placed the brick pavers on a bid of gravel. Next time he'll know to mortar them onto a reinforced concrete base, because some low-life stole the entire path.
