Two new Irrigation Association (IA) courses designed to bring the latest water-saving technology and practices to the landscape will debut at the 26th Annual International Irrigation Show in Phoenix. The courses, Advanced Irrigation Design for Water Conservation and SMART Technologies for Irrigation Management, were created to help irrigation contractors and other professionals effectively use the latest equipment and information about efficient irrigation and Best Management Practices. The class includes information about new and improved technologies that have come onto the scene in the last five years, including better software that can help evaluate designs and improved management tools like smart controllers, controller software, valves, sprinklers and especially nozzles. Local governments and water providers are getting behind the Smart Water Application Technology initiative and requiring its use, but in many cases contractors aren’t aware of the technology and don’t know how to use it or install it.
