IA Introduces Online Education

The first 100 students to sign up for the online Irrigation Association’s Landscape Irrigation Hydraulics course will receive a free calculator.

The Irrigation Association’s online Learning Center is scheduled to open this month, with the first online course, Landscape Irrigation Hydraulics. After reviewing the material, a test at the completion of the course will allow students to assess what they’ve learned.

A total of four courses will launch in 2008. Online courses will also be approved for IA continuing education units.

“The online course will allow companies to train their employees at a low cost without losing work time to attend conventional classes,” said Brent Mecham, IA industry development director.
