Houston?EUR??,,????'???s Reliant Stadium is getting a landscape facelift with more than 5,000 freeze-friendly red, white and blue pansies planted for this year's Super Bowl event that will be held there on February 1.
For the Super Bowl, Houston Landscapes Unlimited (HLU), a full service landscape and irrigation company, will donate 5,000 red, white and blue flowers toward the beautification effort. HLU installed the original landscaping and irrigation systems around Reliant Stadium and has the ongoing landscape maintenance contract for Reliant Park.
Revival plans for the grounds just in time for the upcoming Superbowl Sunday includeinew trees, shrubs and flowers and a new irrigation system. The plantings include eight East Platka hollies, 230 Indian hawthorns, 291 Plum Delight loropetalums, 14 dwarf Burfod hollies, 1,650 pots of Aztec Grass and 5,000 red, white and blue pansy plants. HLU will also overseed the turf surrounding the stadium with ryegrass to swiftly return the lawn to a dark green color.
