Single-family housing starts in September were at a rate of 452,000; this is 4.4 percent (???????(R)???????+???????(R)??????oe???????(R)???????+???????(R)????????13.9%)* above the revised August figure of 433,000. The September rate for units in buildings with five units or more was 150,000.

Privately-owned housing starts in September were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 610,000.???????(R)???????+???????(R)??????oe?EUR??,,????'?????<

The West fared the best with an overall increase of 12.8 percent overall and decrease of 11 percent for single units. The region that fared the worst was the Midwest with decreases of 3.8 percent overall and 8.2 percent for single units.
