Could this be the top of the curve? Should we get a view from up here before Residential Housing starts dipping back down for the winter? Well, possibly.
Census reports on November?EUR??,,????'???s residential construction showed hot and cold aspects to the private home market. While the number of housing permits authorized dipped 5.4% from October to the adjusted annual rate of 1,874,000 , actual housing starts hiked up 4.5% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 2,070,000.
The increase in housing starts followed October?EUR??,,????'???s increase in rates of permit authorizations, and increase that had surprised economists. However, as authorization rates lower, so, most likely, will the rate of actual housing starts.
Single family housing starts reached a rate of 1,695,000 in November. This is 3.3% above October?EUR??,,????'???s rate of 1,641,000. However, single family authorizations in November slipped 4.2% to a rate of 1,474,000 from October?EUR??,,????'???s figure of 1,539,000.
Housing completions also dropped 1.2% in November to a rate of 1,453,000 from October?EUR??,,????'???s rate of 1,474,000. Encroaching winter weather and holidays, no doubt, have begun to affect the construction industry.
